Apex Legends Season 5 Gameplay Trailer Teases Loba's Abilities, Map Changes, Quests

The Apex Legends Season 5 gameplay trailer, released Friday, teased players with three major pieces of information about the upcoming content update: Loba's abilities, changes to Kings Canyon, and a new feature called Quests.
Loba's abilities, unconfirmed by Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment, are shown briefly in the trailer. The first allows her to call in some kind of device she calls a shop from which she and her teammates can retrieve items. The second lets her throw her bracelet — the same one used to teleport in the in-game teaser — and teleport to wherever it lands.
Pursue your fortune in Apex Legends Season 5. Hunt your enemies as Loba, discover hidden secrets in the all-new PvE Season Quest, and explore a dangerous new area, Salvage, in the newly formed bay.

The trailer shows Loba and team exploring Kings Canyon both at night and during the day, suggesting the return of a nighttime map variant. They travel from the newly-sunken Skull Town to several other redesigned locations, indicating the changes to the map will be far-reaching.
Contradicting fan interpretations of recent developer tweets, Prowlers appear to still be in Kings Canyon.
Finally, Loba and company receive a prompt in-game assigning them a quest that assigns them objectives they can complete. They include finding a "hidden artifact," retrieving it, and escaping on an aircraft. The artifacts themselves appear to combine into a mysterious whole.
How this quest system will integrate with the battle royale game mode is unknown.
Apex Legends Season 5 kicks off May 12.
