With a special edition of Riot Pls, the company's regular update video series, a trailer for Arcane was shown. Riddled with teaser images and grand spectacles, it also included a definitive 2020 release date, though no month or quarter was specified. In either case Arcane's release date is set for this year, meaning a more precise date should only be a matter of patience.

Riot Games stated that Arcane's story will settle around "the origin of two iconic champions; and the power that will tear them apart." While still very cryptic, the scenery and environments all point to a setting somewhere in Piltover/Zaun.
Additionally, Jinx's iconic boots appear for a split second, perhaps leaning towards a series that will finally answer the hinted connection between the Loose Cannon and Vi, another Zaunite champion.
