Nintendo

Nintendo announced yesterday that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles are coming to Nintendo Switch Online beginning this year.

Among these soon-to-be-released games are titles from The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Mario, Fire Emblem and many other miscellaneous series.

Compounding these games is the Pokémon series, one of Nintendo's most popular, yet they only announced the arrival of one to Nintendo Switch Online, the Pokémon Trading Card game. This is not a main series Pokémon game necessarily, but it does show that Pokémon games will be coming in due time.

On top of this information is the fact Nintendo stated that all the games announced during yesterday's direct will not be the final list of games that players can expect; there will be many titles that have yet to be announced coming soon enough.

No Pokémon games besides the Pokémon Trading Card game have been announced to come to Nintendo Switch Online as of yesterday, but fans hope several older Pokémon games to make their return sometime this year or next.

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are two out of three Generation III games, which initially came out for the Game Boy Advance. Players travel through the Hoenn region catching iconic Pokémon that have maintained popularity well after these games' initial release.
