Marvel's Avengers is adding Black Panther to its roster with the War for Wakanda expansion.

Square Enix originally announced the new content March 18 during their Square Enix Presents digital showcase. The trailer was brief — just under a minute — and allowed fans a glimpse into how the developers would translate Wakanda and the Black Panther into the game. Additionally, its narration implies a much larger plot, teasing a cameo from Ulysses Klaw and more conflict over vibranium.

Avengers: War for Wakanda Release Date

Unfortunately, there isn't a concrete release date for War for Wakanda. According to the trailer, players can expect it to drop "later this year." Some have reported that this window can be further narrowed down to "summer and beyond" according to the studio's roadmap released in tandem with the reveal.

Others are using the historical trends of the studio to attempt their own predictions. According to fans, major DLCs get released once every three to four months—i.e.: with close to a three-month space between each launch. Therefore, we could be seeing Black Panther in Avengers as early as June or July.

The latter might be the more plausible in our opinion. After all, we are over halfway through March already.

Marvel's Avengers is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series X/S, Google Stadia, and Windows PCs.
