A release date for Banjo-Kazooie on Nintendo Switch Online has been revealed, and it's coming sooner than you think.

Nintendo has announced that fan-favorite, Banjo-Kazooie, would be hitting the Nintendo Switch Online service tomorrow, on Jan. 20. Previously, fans only had the vague release date of January, 2022.

The game joins the service as part of Expansion Pack, which offers players access to a number of Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Nintendo offered fans a quick glimpse of the port via a new trailer posted to their official Twitter account.

Banjo-Kazooie, developed by Rare Limited, made its debut on the Nintendo 64 back in 1998. Following the story of Banjo (a bear) and Kazooie (a bird), the unlikely duo must stop the kidnapping of Banjo's younger sister by the witch Gruntilda. The game quickly become a staple entry in the Nintendo 64 catalog, with many citing the 3D platformer as one of the best around.

The game has spawned a number of sequels and spin-offs and, following Rare's acquistion by Microsoft, a remasterd version was released for the Xbox 360.
