Battlefield 2042 Release Date Set for October
By Nathan Fusco

Battlefield 2042 release date is set for Oct. 22, 2021, giving fans something to look forward to in the upcoming holiday season. Dice didn't just stop there as the next installment in the series is trying out a few different things. That's where a dynamic map comes into play.
The weather systems seem to be a lot more than your typical rain or snow maps. Toward the end of the trailer, players suddenly stop to the sound of thunder and the flash of lightning in the background. In the midst of a metropolis, soldiers start panicking and running, and for good reason. Out of the dark clouds, a massive tornado appears.

There is a lot of speculation on what the tornado means, if players have any agency when it comes to the weather system or is it all random. You won't have to wait too long to find out as Dice revealed a gameplay livestream set for June 13. Expect a lot of questions to be answered during the reveal.
Not much else was shown about the weird system and Dice's description of the game on YouTube was pretty generic, "Battlefield 2042 is a first-person shooter that marks the return to the iconic all-out warfare of the franchise. Adapt and overcome in a near-future world transformed by disorder. Squad up and bring a cutting-edge arsenal into dynamically-changing battlegrounds supporting 128 players*, unprecedented scale, and epic destruction."
