Do you have dreams of being the best Assassin in Diablo II: Resurrected? We've got you covered.

Any good build starts from the bottom-up. Obviously, you'll be working with what the gods gave you and fleshing things out from there. That's right, we're talking about your natural assets—your stats! Below, we explain which stats are the best for Assassin characters and what should be prioritized.

Best Stats for the Assassin in Diablo II: Resurrected

As a quick recap, there are four stats in Diablo II: Resurrected: Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, and Energy. Strength affects how hard you hit and how heavy your armor can be. Dexterity focuses on whether or not you can land those hits and how difficult it is for enemies to do the same—as well as gatekeeping some weapons. Vitality controls your hit point and stamina max. Meanwhile, Energy is directly responsible for your mana.

We recommend prioritizing your stats in the following order:

  1. Energy
  2. Dexterity
  3. Vitality
  4. Strength

The Assassin class is build on tricks, traps, ranged attacks, and general glass-cannonry. You'll be drawing heavily from your mana for most of your most powerful abilities, especially early on. Therefore, Energy should be your primary focus.

Moving on from that, we've placed Dexterity next due to its grip on speed as well as the fact the majority of "assassin-like" weapons will require Dexterity to wield. When it comes down to it—if your traps and abilities fall—you want to make sure your attacks land and that you can avoid as much damage as possible.

Vitality is often either the first or second most coveted stat in Diablo—and for good reason. Your health will keep you up while your stamina will keep you going. Truthfully, Dexterity and Vitality can be swapped as needed, but we'll leave that up to you.

Last, unsurprisingly, is strength. Assassin's typically don't wear heavy armor—and let's be real, what kind of assassin gets hit back, anyway?
