Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg has signed a two-year contract with Team Liquid. The 25-year-old mid laner was previously on Team SoloMid for seven years before announcing this big change.
Bjergsen started playing professionally when he was only 17 years old. He is one of the best mid laners in the League of Legends Championship Series, winning six LCS titles and competing in the League of Legends World Championship five times throughout his career with TSM.
Last year in October, Bjergsen announced that he was retiring from his position as a professional player and would embark on a new journey as TSM's head coach. Bjergsen coached TSM throughout the 2021 season before announcing his return to professional playing.
Along with Bjergsen playing as Team Liquid's mid laner in the upcoming 2022 season, other members include:
- Top laner Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau
- AD Carry Steven "Hans Sama" Liv
- Mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen
- Jungler Lucas "Santorin" Tao Kilmer Larsen
- Support Yong-in "CoreJJ."
TSM fans were surprised to see Bjergsen joining a different organization but are excited to see the mid laner play in the LCS again. A video posted on Twitter shared that Bjergsen expressed to TSM that he wanted to play professionally once again. The team had given an offer to Bjergen, who declined in order to start a new career with a different organization.
Although Bjergsen will not be playing with TSM in the 2022 season, fans have shown their support for his decision and are excited to see what he will do on Team Liquid.
