The Black Ops Cold War floppy disk code and passphrase can be tricky to find, as they require more detective work than is usually asked of Call of Duty players. Finding them is only necessary for the side mission "Operation Chaos," but Call of Duty completists will want to get this done as quickly as possible — especially since Cold War's servers are still a mess on launch day. Here's how to find your own floppy disk and passphrase. (Spoilers ahead.)

Black Ops Cold War Floppy Disk Code: How to Find the Disk Code & Passphrase

The first step to finding your floppy disk code is to find all three pieces of evidence. You'll have to find this evidence yourself, as the floppy disk code and passphrase is different for each Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player.

The first piece of evidence, the Coded Message, appears in your inventory near the end of the mission "Nowhere Left to Run," after your conversation with Qasim. The second piece of evidence appears in the "Brick in the Wall" mission. After finding the prisoner, look for an audio reel tape nearby. The third and final piece of evidence can be found in the Redlight bar, during the mission "Greenlight." Look for the front page of the Observer newspaper.

Now comes the detective work. When looking at the Coded Message, you should see a string of red and blue numbers and letters. There should be a pattern to the numbers and letters of each color that allows you to figure out the missing characters.

With both strings completed, listen to the Numbers Station Broadcast until you come across the numbers you just found. The broadcast will mention a city, and that city will be the passphrase.

Now turn to the newspaper. Find every letter written in red, then shuffle those letters around until you can spell the name of a city. Listen to the Numbers Station Broadcast and grab the numbers that correspond with that city. Those numbers will be the floppy disk code.

Enter both the passphrase and the floppy disk code to continue the "Operation Chaos" side mission.
