In the cinematic, players are treated to a lot of new additions to the game such as a new operator, new multiplayer map, and the addition of Rebirth Island.

The official storyline for Black Ops Cold War Season One is a trap has been set resulting in the attack on a CIA safe house. An old enemy is returning to exact some long-awaited revenge. Russell Adler, and his team, breach an experimental Nova 6 production site on Rebirth Island. However, Vikhor "Stich" Kuzmin, former KGB leader of the Nova 6 operation is waiting for him.
