Blackout Double XP: Blackout Has a Double Experience and Free Weekend
By Nathan Fusco

Blackout double XP weekend is here! Call of Duty 4: Blackout has a free weekend for players wanting to try out the battle royale, but on top of that, players will earn double the experience.
Despite everyone playing Apex Legends or Fortnite, Blackout is still cruising along.
#Blackout Free Access continues and we’re celebrating with 2X Merits for the rest of the week!

Blackout Double XP: Blackout Has a Double Experience and Free Weekend
The weekend started on April 18 and will continue until April 22 at 10 a.m. PT.
The game has struggled to keep up with the competition since the release of Apex Legends. It was the cool kid on the block, but lost that bonus when Apex Legends released. PUBG always has the nostalgia feel while Fortnite is constantly updating things and adding new content. It's hard for Blackout to stay relevant.
It does have the Call of Duty community, so it's doing fine in general, but it will never be the juggernaut that Treyarch was hoping for. In more recent Blackout news, Duos were removed to promote other game modes.
Duos were originally removed from Blackout’s playlists April 9 in the 1.17 update. Fans were unenthusiastic about the removal of duos, lashing out at Treyarch for the decision. Their vocal unhappiness prompted an explanation from Treyarch, but that wasn't enough for the community.
