Here's everything you need to know about "On the Blood Path" from Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 On the Blood Path Side Quest

You pick up this quest in Eden-6 in The Anvil from Ramsden, the former gang leader of another man named Holder. He informs you that Holder was taken from his gang, the Fingerbite, by the Shanks and tasks you to find him.

The quest, itself, is pretty straightforward. Search the nearby guard station for the key to Holder's cell in "Shankland", home of the Shank gang. Once you find the key you'll need to pave the way to Ramsden's missing man. Slaughter the Shanks that lie in your path and proceed onward to locate the Holder's cell. It might take you a few tries—and ammunition rounds—to find the right man, but don't worry. Holder will eventually reveal himself.

Turns out, however, you've been working for the villain of this story the whole time. The Shanks have actually been hiding Holder from Ramsden for his own protection. It's too late to go back now, however, as Ramsden is knocking at the door to let him in.

Here's where your choice comes in. You can either let Ramsden in to slaughter Holder, or you can side with Holder and protect him from the Fingerbiters.

Letting Ramsden in will kill require you to Holder and the remaining Shanks. After the bloodbath, Ramsden will be grateful to you and give you Holder's rare shotgun: the Fingerbiter.

If you side with Holder you'll need to kill Ramsden and the entire Fingerbite gang. When that battle is over, Holder will give you his shield: the Unpaler. He says he won't need it any longer now that Ramsden is dead.

Good luck, Vault Hunters.
