Breath of the Wild Sequel Delayed Until Spring 2023

The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been delayed until Spring 2023.
Previously, Nintendo had announced that they were aiming for a release later this year. Sadly, the company put out an announcement earlier today revealing that they would be extending the development timing, changing the release window to Spring 2023.
The announcement came via Nintendo's official Twitter channels, through a video from series producer Eiji Aonuma.
"For those of you who have been looking forward to the release this year, we apologize" said Aonuma.
The announcement also gave players another glimpse at some of the upcoming features heading to the sequel. "As previously announced, the adventure in this sequel will take place not just on the ground sa in the previous game, but also in the skies above. However the explanded world goes beyond that."

"There will be an even wider variety of features you can enjoy, including new encounters and new gameplay elements."
The delay to the highly anticipated sequel will no doubt be disappointing for fans, but likely not surprising.
"In order to make this game's experience something special the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer," Aonuma concluded.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel, which remains unnamed at the time of writing, will now be launching in Spring 2023.
