With the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild remaining delayed until 2023, it's safe to say that the leak trail for the highly anticipated title will continue to be watched tightly from here on out.
As spotted on the web Tuesday morning (H/T IGN), an interview from fan site Lega Hyrule featuring Daruk's Italian voice actor Pietro Ubaldi has quickly gone viral as it appears they might have accidentally revealed some major plot details for the upcoming sequel.
Spoiler warning for possible plot details linked to the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel ahead, of course.
According to Lega Hyrule's video, Ubaldi revealed that he had just recorded new lines for Breath of the Wild 2, suggesting that the Italian dub for the title is currently in development.
Perhaps most importantly, Ubaldi also reportedly told Lega Hyrule that he is not only voicing Daruk once again, but also an ancestor of Daruk as well — to which he forgot the name of.
At first glance, this is certainly eyebrow-raising considering that at the end of the first Breath of the Wild title, Daruk passes into the afterlife.
As theorized by Lega Hyrule, this ancestor could be the Champion from the "ancient times," who,10,000 years prior, was an original Divine Beast pilot.
Ultimately, it will be interesting to see just how Nintendo plans to bring up the past in the Breath of the Wild sequel, whether it is with flashbacks that occur throughout the game just as in the original, or if players get a full-blown chance to go back in time.
Since the original Breath of the Wild 2 teaser shows glimpses of Link with longer hair and toga-like clothing, it appears this all could easily be fair game to be confirmed in the final title.
