A broken attachment regarding optics has made the Kar98k extremely popular with Warzone players this week.
The latest Call of Duty update has "broken" optics, according to players. It originally went live on April 6 in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War and affected several aspects of gameplay including the R1 Shadowhunter Camo Challenges, rifle recoil, speed correction, and more. Unfortunately, it appears that the developers didn't foresee the host of glitches this latest patch would create—copying add-ons, the devastating stim glitch, and, now, the elimination of glint.
Broken Warzone Attachment Popularizes Kar98k Loadout
For those unaware, "glint" is the mechanic that allows players to spot their opponents' location from far away. As of the latest patch launch, sniper rifles have the ability to eliminate glint by utilizing their scope—fitting, since the sniper rifle is essentially made for long-distance kills.
The Kar98k loadout relies on a single thing: the Variable Zoom Scope attachment. On its own, the Kar98k is known to be powerful. However, with this scope, the workaround for glint may have just transformed it into the most deadly rifle in-game.
The attachments for the loadout include:
- Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Optic: Variable Zoom Scope
- Perk(s): Sleight of Hand
- Stock: FTAC Sport Comb
Players should note that equipping this scope on any rifle will activate the glitch just as well. So, if the Kar98k isn't your style, you're welcome to pick your favorite gun and go from there.
There has been no word from neither Raven Software nor Activision on this glitch.
