Bruised sternum Madden 20 is an all too common injury and can sideline your player for weeks on end. As with every injury in the game, you have to be careful about the following days and weeks.

During gameplay, a pop-up will tell you how severe a potential injury is and, if the player can return to the game. If you force the player to return, you have a chance at re-injuring the player and make matters way worse. It's usually best to choose to keep your player benched until the doctor clears him to play.

But even then it gets more complicated because some injuries will heal to about 80% and you can play the player, but there is still a chance at making it worse, This is when the game prompts you with a "Big Decision." You'll need to bring the player back in the rotation or keep him out longer.

A Bruised Sternum usually takes 2-4 weeks, but this is one of the few injuries that doesn't get worse if you put them back in a week early. During the game, they'll need to be taken out, but you can rush back the player without risk to further injury, they will just have depleted stats because of the pain.
