Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf won the first ever Fortnite World Cup solos tournament Saturday, earning himself $3 million and permanent bragging rights.

Bugha began the Fortnite event strong, claiming the victory royale in the first of six matches that comprised the solos finals. He continued to place well and pick up high elimination totals throughout the event, securing his win by placing in the top five of the last match.

In total, the 16-year-old Bugha earned 59 points — an overwhelming 26 more than his nearest competition. Counter Logic Gaming's Harrison "Psalm" Chang claimed $1.8 million for second place with 33 points, and EpikWhale earned $1.2 million for his 32 points in third.

In a post-game interview with Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez, Bugha struggled to express the elation he felt.

"Words can't even explain it right now," he told Goldenboy.

"Everything I've done, the grind, it's all paid off. It's just insane."

As confetti rained down and the music pounded, his family joined him on the stage to hug the newly crowned king of Fortnite.
