Bungie, the developer of the popular multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) title, Destiny 2, has published another job listing.
This time, it's for a "Contract Incubation Sandbox Designer" to work on the company's latest unannounced IP. As always, the listing offers little details on the game, but offers a glimpse into what the title is shaping up to be. Specifically, Bungie is now searching for someone to design the combat systems in a way "that strongly cares about player intention, action game feel, and readability."
Bungie Posts Second Job Listing for "New Bungie IP!"
"Are you on a mission to create games that bond players together into deeply invested communities? Do you spend your time thinking about how different game mechanics can come together to create amazing teamplay moments?" The posting reads, "Bungie is seeking a Gameplay/Combat Designer to contribute to a multiplayer action game currently in incubation."
The most important part of this, of course, is the "in incubation" note at the very end. This is a bit of shorthand for beginning or within the first steps of development. It looks like whatever Bungie is working on has finally gone beyond an intangible concept.
Some outlets believe that this latest job could be related to a separate listing published months prior. The company recently sought out a Multiplayer Systems Designer to work on a project that was reportedly "comedic with lighthearted and whimsical characters." However, whether these two are concretely related remains to be seen.
So, if you're interested in spending the next nine months working on what could be this prolific studio's next big hit, feel free to apply here.
We can't wait to see what Bungie is working on behind the scenes.
