Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War players can finally take advantage of the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller capabilities on PC.

Support was added alongside the mid-season “Reloaded” patch released early on Thursday, July 15. However, the change was not noted in the patch notes, leaving eagle-eyed players to find out about it on their own. A brief search of the settings revealed the ability toggle haptic feedback on and off—something players have been asking for following similar updates in other titles.

Here’s everything there is to know about using the DualSense controller triggers on PC.

COD PC Players Can Finally Use PS5 DualSense Controllers

The change was originally brought to light on the official COD: Black Ops Cold War subreddit. Reddit user Joslatt1 posted about the new option on Wednesday, July 14, where they included a screencap of exactly where to find it. It’s worth noting, however, that the sensation will only work when plugged in via cable. Bluetooth compatibility isn’t available at the time of writing.

”PC now recognises PS5 Controllers and includes the Haptic Feedback Feature!” They wrote.

Fellow players were quick to confirm and celebrate the change in the comments. Several expressed excitement, noting how long they had been waiting for the change.

“Seeing official DualSense (PS5 Controller) support on PC makes me incredibly happy,” user GreenGhost21 wrote, ”I've been waiting for DualSense support since I got one of those controllers around the holidays of last year.”

Others pointed out difficulties and growing pains they were having with the new option and how some sensations persisted despite ending a match or turning the feature off.

“Cool, now I just need a DualSense that didn't get extreme stick drift that makes the game unplayable after 3-4 months of owning it,” wrote Drake132667596.

CowM27 explained that disabling the option only removed the vibration, but did nothing to release the tension behind the hardware.

While the support may not be perfect, it certainly is a step forward. Treyarch has effectively placed Cold War in line with other popular titles such as Asassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players can likely expect more updates to refine its capabilities in the coming months.
