A perk glitch thought to be exclusive to private matches has made its way to public lobbies following the Call of Duty (COD): Warzone Season 6 update.
This has been a known problem for players since mid-summer earlier this year. Originally, players assumed this error would be kept to private games put together by popular players or competitions. Now, however, thanks to the latest season update in Warzone, it has mutated and infected public matches, as well.
Here's what you need to know.
COD: Warzone Ghost Perk Glitch Explained
According to player reports, the Ghost perk appears to not be working as intended. Those who pick it as part of their loadout will sometimes still show up on opposing players' radars—making it a cosmetic waste of a slot at the time of writing.
Its public occurrence was brought to light by Thomas "Tommey" Trewren, a member of the 100 Thieves (100T), via his verified Twitter account. In a tweet published late on Wednesday, Oct. 6, Tommey added a 1:30 minute clip explaining the glitch as it happens on screen in real time.
"In customs, there's a Ghost glitch where even when you have Ghost, close or far, you'll still show on the radar for a couple of pings," he explains, "It is now [in] normal Warzone in public matches."
It shouldn't come as a surprise that this error has caused multiple problems for streamers and competitors in the past. Still, despite its frustrating prevalence, it seems to have survived into Season 6. Hopefully, its added expansion will provide the incentive for developers to fully address it in the next patch.
For now, until Raven Software ships a hotfix, DBLTAP recommends picking this perk with caution or—better yet—avoiding it altogether.
