As the popular meme goes: “Oh s***. Here we go, again.”
Players of Activision’s military shooter battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone, are reporting that one of the most notorious hacks has been cropping up on the new Pacific map, Caldera. The hack? Why, God Mode, of course!
The hack was captured by Reddit user international93 and published to the official CODWarzone subreddit board on Friday, Feb. 4. In the post, the user seems confused about what exactly they’re witnessing in the attached video clip. For better or worse, other users were quick to jump in, having recognized the behavior from nightmares past.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s ‘God Mode’ Hack has Appeared on Caldera
Users have confirmed that the “God Mode” hack is back—in all but name, anyway.
The clip showcases the player shooting at an advancing opponent to no avail. Despite the crosshair landing directly on the opponent’s chest and, in some cases, on their head, no damage registers and the opponent continues their charge.
In the face of adversity, as per usual with the Warzone community, most of the replies took the opportunity to make light of the situation by cracking jokes. A good portion of these referenced the “better “ meme, like the reply below:
Pixelpeoplewarrior wrote, “He clearly just has a better gaming chair.”
This wasn’t the end of the good-humored comments, of course.
SkyDaddyOdin wrote, “Battlefield 2042 is that you????”
”Krampus is back!!!!! <3,” merskrilla wrote.
Other users suspected it could be a glitch with the in-game riot shield item. No_Yak_3964 pointed it out and stated that a similar effect happened to them due to this new glitch. According to them, “If you get shot by a combat bow while using a riot shield you get stuck at 0 health.”
“….You can't interact with anything when the bug happens. Can't pick up ballistic knives, throwing knives, use munitions boxes, get in vehicles, etc.” They added.
Regardless of what this situation really is, there’s no doubt it’s both terrifying and disheartening to be a part of.
