Can Pikachu be shiny in Pokémon GO? You'll be glad to know that Pokémon's mascot can be shiny in Pokémon GO.

If you're hunting for the new World Cap Pikachu or the classic Original Cap Pikachu this month during Spotlight Hours, you'll also be glad to know that both Cap Pikachu can also be shiny. On top of that, both can evolve in the respective Cap Raichu.

Can Pikachu be Shiny in Pokémon GO?

Shiny Pikachu will be hard to find, and Spotlight Hours don't make it any easier. Unlike Community Day events, Spotlight Hours won't boost your chances of finding a shiny Pikachu. You'll run into one roughly once every 450 times.

Shiny Pokémon don't appear on the map as shiny. You'll have to engage each Pikachu you see before seeing that it's shiny. When you do find a shiny Pikachu, it will have a sparkle next to its name tag.

A shiny Pikachu is orange, looking like its evolved form Raichu. When it does evolve, the color is swapped, as a shiny Raichu is yellow. The same coloration is maintained for the Cap variants, and the hat itself does not change color.
