Can Snover Be Shiny in Pokémon GO? For the upcoming holiday season, a lot of players have been hungering for holiday-themed Pokémon, from the Reindeer-like Stantler to the present delivering Delibird, even extending to a Pikachu wearing a Christmas hat. Pokémon is no stranger to themed Pokémon, but none come closer to creating that Christmas spirit than Snover and its evolution, Abomasnow. These two look exactly like Christmas trees; pair them with the previously mentioned Delibird and Stantler and you’ll be all set to deliver presents as Santa.

Can Snover Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

To answer the all-important question, yes, shiny Snover is available in Pokémon GO! There is no better time to look for one than right now! Recently developer Niantic added Mega Abomasnow as a potential raid encounter. Snover and Abomasnow on their own are not particularly fantastic Pokémon, the Ice- and Grass-typing makes it vulnerable to more things than it is resistant to. When taking the heat from Fire-type moves Snover and its evolutions will take 4x the normal amount of damage. That is brutal, especially considering how common Fire-types are.

However, don’t count Snover out just yet! Any Mega Evolution you can get your hands on will be worth it, and any Pokémon like Mega Abomasnow will be able to find a place on a team. Having this Pokémon on your team will just mean taking the time to properly plan your strategy. That means making sure you have Pokémon to cover Mega Abomasnow’s weaknesses. 

If you’re thinking of using Abomasnow on your team then make sure to do all the raids you can while the Pokémon is in rotation. Nothing would be more depressing than sinking a ton of resources into a Pokémon only to run out of Mega Energy for it!
