Is Riot Games' free-to-play team shooter coming to Xbox any time soon?
Valorant has risen in popularity since its release in June 2020. The free-to-play shooter has benefited from the rise of online team games like Overwatch and Apex Legends, sharing their use of a roster of heroes for players to learn and utilize. Valorant uses Agents, playable characters based on various countries and cultures from around the world.
So far, Valorant has only been available on Windows PCs leaving many console players feeling left out. While the majority of these multiplayer games have made their way to consoles, Xbox fans in particular have been wondering if Valorant will come to their preferred platform.
Can You Play Valorant on Xbox?
For the time being, players cannot play Valorant on Xbox. It's also highly unlikely that we'll see the game come to consoles in 2021. This doesn't mean that the game won't ever come to Xbox, rather that it might be some time before it does.
Riot Games is rumored to be experimenting with console ports of their games, and free-to-play games like Valorant tend to do fairly well on console. In an interview held between Gamespot and Executive Producer Anna Donlon, Donlon stated that Riot are “prototyping a Valorant console port" but did not reveal much more. While we don't have much to go on just yet, it's possible that fans can anticipate more information later next year.
