Can you preorder Death Stranding: Director's Cut? Hideo Kojima showed up at the Summer Game Fest Kickoff event at the start of E3 2021 to reveal his latest mad scientist creation would be receiving an expanded director's cut version, but details about the new edition are scarce so far. Here's what we know about preordering the game.

Can You Preorder Death Stranding Director's Cut?

Kojima unveiled the Death Stranding: Director's Cut with a glacially paced teaser that showed Sam Porter Bridges trying to infiltrate some kind of underground compound. Faced with a bunch of enemies patrolling the facility, Sam searches for a way to sneak through. He comes upon a box that he considers hiding inside of the same way Kojima's most famous protagonist, Solid Snake, would. Instead, he re-shelves the box and leaves.

The trailer described the Director's Cut as "coming soon," with a full reveal still to come. It didn't mention any more specifics about release. Neither did it address preorders.

Unfortunately, nothing has changed on either front. Preorders for the game still have yet to open, and Kojima Productions hasn't shared any new information about when they'll open up.

Death Stranding was originally released on PlayStation 4 in 2019, with a PC release following in 2020.
