Can Zubat be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
This month features three unique spotlight hours, featuring Pokemon that some trainers may have forgotten. July 7 will focus on Taillow while July 14 will promote Zubat—everyone's favorite cave-dwelling encounter. With increased spawning of any Pokemon comes an increased shiny chance. However, as most veterans know, not every Pokemon that appears in Pokemon GO has its shiny palette implemented in the game.
So, what about Zubat?
Can Taillow be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Yes, Zubat can be shiny in Pokemon GO. Zubat was originally released with the first Kanto region Pokemon when the game went live in 2016. Since then, it's become of the bane of many a trainers' existence
It's no secret that Zubat's irregular, jagged flight pattern makes it difficult to catch. The constant jerking of its body and aggressive flapping of its wings masks its distance in the field, meaning that it could take multiple near-misses to strike its small hitbox.
Zubat evolves in Golbat with the use of 25 candies and then into Crobat with 100 candies.
While Zubat has been in the game since launch, its shiny version has only recently become available. Shiny Zubat wasn't added to Pokemon GO until the Team GO Rocket Disruption event on July 25, 2019. Its shiny version is a mossy green which continues through its evolutionary chain.
