Celtic FC's esports branch will field a team at the Call of Duty World League Championship, the Scottish soccer team announced Monday.

Celtic FC to Field Team at Call of Duty World League Championship

Celtic FC Esports signed European Call of Duty team The Bhoys after it won the CWL Amateur Finals in Miami. Funny enough, The Bhoys is one of Celtic FC's nicknames.

"This will be a great opportunity for Celtic FC Esports to align with a world-class esports event. It will give the team worldwide exposure, before Activision converts the league into a city-based franchised model with slots going for $25million each. Franchises have already been sold to owners in Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Paris, and Toronto so far," Celtic FC said in its announcement.

Celtic FC Esports' roster is as follows:

  • Sean "Seany" O'Conner
  • Shea "QwiKeR" Sweeny
  • Ben Bance
  • Byron "Nastie" Plumridge
  • Sam "Chain" Dineley

The Call of Duty World League Championship takes place Aug 14-18 in Los Angeles with a $2 million prize pool up for grabs. It is the final Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 esports event of the season.
