Courtesy of Niantic.

Cliff in Pokémon GO has made an appearance for April 2021 and everyone wants to know how to beat him. As a member of Team Rocket, Cliff is one of the people you have to face before making it to the boss, Giovanni.

As part of the Tricky Pokémon tasks running until April 8, you have to defeat one of Team Rocket's leader. One of which, is Cliff.

How to Beat Cliff for April 2021

So how do you do this? Well, luckily Cliff has a pretty predictable pattern of Pokémon he uses during battles, allowing us to come up with a set of counters you can use. After you've faced the Team Rocket grunts, you'll be able to challenge Cliff.

Aerodactyl Counters

The first Pokémon he uses is always going to be Aerodactyl, which helps us a lot. it is weak to ice-, rock-, electric-, water-, and steel-type Pokémon such as Thundurus Therian, Mamoswine, and Blastoise.

Gallade, Slowking, and Cradily

For his next Pokémon, Cliff can pick from either Slowking, Gallade, or Cradily. The best counters for Gallade are fairy-, flying-, or ghost-type Pokémon such as Rayquauza, Moltres, and Gengar. The best counters for Slowking are electric-, grass-, bug-, dark-, and ghost-type Pokémon such as Raikou, Gengar, and Electivire. For Cradily, they are weak against fighting-, ice-, bug-, and steel- types like Machamp, Conkeldurr, and Aggron.

Tyranitar, Dusknoir, and Mamoswine

For the last round, Cliff can either use Tyranitar, Mamoswine, or Dusknoir. If you're up against Tyranitar, the best counters are from fighting-, fairy-, ground-, bug-, steel-, water-, and grass-type Pokémon's such as Conkeldurr, Blaziken, and Lucario. For Mamoswine, the best counters are fire-, fighting-, grass-, water-, and steel- types like Kyogre, Blastoise, and Lucario. Finally, if Cliff chooses Dusknoir, look for dark-, and ghost-type Pokémon such as Gengar, Weavile, and Darkrai.
