We are excited to announce that @valens will be taking back the Head Coach position in the team! #LETSGOC9 https://t.co/MB6ZW6Ja1f
Rambo’s position will be filled by Soham “valens” Chowdhury, the team’s previous head coach, who had briefly taken on a new role as its head of data science. Valens himself joined the team in February 2017.
Cloud9 thanked Rambo for his work, and Rambo thanked the team for the opportunity, but neither shared an explanation for the change.
Cloud9’s CS:GO squad has changed its lineup several times in 2019. Robin “flusha” Rönnquist left the team in early March, followed two days later by Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro. Daniel "vice" Kim joined the team on trial March 23, and Cloud9 released Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey March 31. Finally, Cloud9 signed René "cajunb" Borg April 2.
