A breaking COD 2025 leak revealed Call of Duty 2025 is a sequel to a fan-favorite title from years ago.
Even though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 only dropped last month, fans are already curious about the future of Call of Duty moving forward. Despite the positive changes in the current title, like the return of red dots and advanced movement, there is still much to be desired in Sledgehammer Games' title. Fortunately, Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming revealed some positive news about COD 2025 that left the community buzzing with excitement.
Here's everything we know about COD 2025's theme, setting, and maps.
COD 2025 Leak Details Sequel to Massively Popular Title
Henderson's report states that COD 2025 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The game will reportedly be set in 2030, five years after the timeline of Black Ops 2, and bring a semi-futuristic flare to Call of Duty for the first time in years.
The game is also rumored to include an "overhaul to its movement system" and the return of the Pick 10 system, granting players even greater freedom when creating their loadouts. Plus, Zombies will once again be back as an option for fans needing a break from multiplayer or Battle Royale.
Any greater specifics regarding the new changes are hard to come by, especially this far out from the game's release, but the new report also corroborates a previous leak that revealed COD 2025's map set.
COD 2025 Maps Leaked
Although there is no confirmed list of COD 2025 maps just yet, the report details the return of remastered Black Ops 2 maps. We could be seeing iconic maps like Raid, Express, Standoff, and more back in the future Call of Duty title.
Unlike MW3, though, the launch will also include new maps as well, giving fans a mixture of old and fresh options come release day. It seems the developers learned from their mistakes this time around, and are taking the steps necessary to produce a "completely new game."
Stay tuned for more updates on COD 2025 as the new year unfolds.
