Code Vein Weapons: Everything You Need to Know

Code Vein weapons might just be the most important part of the game. After all, how would you progress through the story and environments without putting down enemies as you go? The game is primarily set to be a dungeon crawler, after all. If you want to be an asset to your team and not slow anyone down, you'll need to know your way around the five different categories weapons can fall into in BANDAI NAMCO's newest development: Code Vein.

Here's everything you need to know about these weapons.

Code Vein Weapons

The first type of weapon is one-handed swords. They are "lightweight, short-range but provide the wielder fast and agile attacks." This is decently similar to most other rpg games in regards to speed and damage. These weapons can be found scattered in dungeons, as rewards from enemies, or in chests. Examples of one-handed swords are the Sunset Sword, Queenslayer Blade, and Pipe of Thralldom.

The second type of weapon is two-handed swords. Again, like other games, two-handed swords follow the suit of bigger damage at the cost of speed and agility. They also have a longer range where they can inflict damage. Two-handed swords can be found in the same manner as their one-handed cousins. Examples of these weapons include the Queenslayer Greatsword and Zweihander.

The third type is two-handed hammers. This weapon has "heavy blunt attacks with decent range but slow speed." This is also pretty typical. Surprisingly, however, this category also includes certain types of axes. Examples of this weapon type are the Hammer of Thralldom, Sunset Hammer, and Lost Axe.

The fourth type is spears, halberds, and polearms. These are quite different than their predecessors with the longest range of all and the existence of unique combos at the expense of defense and blocking capability. However, using a spear or polearm might cost less stamina. Examples of this weapon are the Sunset Halberd and Lost Bardiche.

The final type is bayonets and rifles. This is a bit of a turn from the traditionally medieval feel of the other weapons. These are the only completely ranged weapons in the game so far. Additionally, you may also perform short melee attacks with them. Examples of available rifles and bayonets are the Sunset Bayonet, and Lost Bayonet.
