This Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles character tier list is here for those who want to get a get idea of where the competitive is at the moment early on within a week of the game's launch.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles is the latest 3D arena fighting game from CyberConnect2. Based on the anime adaption of the Demon Slayer manga series, the game follows the events of the first season and features exploration elements coupled with various boss battles.

As with most anime adaptations, the game features a whole host of characters that will need to be unlocked, including seven that are simply are alternative versions of the characters. Here is a tier list of the playable characters available at launch in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles.

S Tier

  • Kyojuro Rengoku
  • Hinokami Tanjiro
  • Nezuko Kamado
  • Giyu Tomioka

Fitting considering his status as a Hashira, Rengoku is likely the best character in the game thanks to his extremely strong damage and elite specials. The Hinokami Kagura, fire-style of Tanjiro is simply one of the strongest characters to use thanks to his superb specials and great attack and movement speeds With good attack and movement speeds, as well as great specials, Nezuko is a tough opponent to deal with. Giyu has an extremely strong parry special that shutdowns button-mashing.

A Tier

  • Inosuke Hashibira
  • Makomo

Inosuke has access to strong moves that force enemies to play around them and dealt with it. Makomo is also hard to deal with as she can put immense pressure on opponents with her ability to be unrelenting with guard breaks, combos and specials.

B Tier

  • Sabito
  • Tanjiro Kamado
  • Sakonji Urokodaki
  • Zenitsu Agatsuma
  • Shinobu Kocho

In B Tier are five characters that have decent combos and combo routes, solid normals, and all-around viable movesets, but also specials that lack in some sort of way that keep them from being overpowered.

C Tier

  • Murata

Decent to poor specials, as well as being well-rounded in not excelling or struggling anywhere, Murata sits at the bottom of the list for now in C Tier.
