Denis "denis" Howell has departed German Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team Sprout in favor of BIG, Sprout announced Wednesday.
Denis first joined Sprout's CS:GO lineup in December 2017, when the team was first created. He's remained on the roster since then, competing with the team just outside of the top tier of CS. Prior to that, Denis was a substitute for BIG.
Today it’s time to say goodbye to @denisCSGO, who has been part of Sprout from day one.— Sprout (@sproutGG) May 15, 2019
But our ways part from now on even though we hoped for a different outcome.
Nevertheless, we wish him best of luck and the success he is looking for at @BIGCLANgg. ?? pic.twitter.com/KJVTq98Bfl
Denis will join the BIG roster in place of Johannes "nex" Maget, who will move to the bench. Nex had previously been off active duty while undergoing surgery for wrist pain, rejoining the team Feb. 1. His return allowed Owen "smooya" Butterfield to leave the active lineup.
BIG is competing in ESL Pro League Season 9 Europe. It has faced a 0-2 start to the competition, losing to both HellRaisers and Astralis in the group stage so far. It will next play Heroic on May 21, Natus Vincere on May 22, and North on May 23 for a chance to proceed to the finals.
