Fortnite players are set to be tasked with destroying sandcastles as part of their weekly challenges.
Earlier this week, Fortnite fans were greeted with a series of sandcastles set up along the shores and beaches of Fortnite Island. Despite having no news on what they were for, the players quickly discovered the castles could be destroyed with a simple press of a button. Several suspected that this could have to do with future challenges—allegedly not until Season 10.
'Destroy Sandcastles' in Fortnite Locations
Sandcastles can be found in the southwestern part of the island, along the shore closest to Misty Meadows. Taking the road west from the main cluster of buildings, players will see a fork that leads toward the shore. It curves at a cliff that abruptly gives way to the sea. Below this cliff is where the sandcastles can be found.
Unfortunately, as it appears the castles weren't supposed to be released until the rest of the challenges went live on May 20, this is the only confirmed cluster in-game. However, players could possibly expect the rest of the sandy shores to be dotted with castles when the challenge set launches.
The corresponding part of the Week 10 challenges requires players to destroy 10 of these castles.
