Battlefield 2042 was officially announced today after numerous leaks. The official reveal trailer had the classic multiple-manned army feel that the franchise brings but no gameplay. This begs the question: does Battlefield 2042 have a campaign?

The game is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on Oct. 22. The reveal stream showcased environmental disasters, named characters called Specialists, and a brand new game mode called Hazard Zone. Gameplay is expected to be shown at this year’s E3 on June 13. There will also be another unannounced mode that will be revealed at the EA Play Live in July.

Does Battlefield 2042 Have a Campaign?

Although campaigns are a big part of the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 2042 won’t have a campaign when it launches in October. A rumored Battle Royale mode will also not be present on launch.

Developers of the game, DICE, instead plan to focus more on its multiplayer. The multiplayer supports 128 players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S and X. The PS4 and Xbox One will only support half of that with 64.

This huge amount of players plus teased Weather Systems in the reveal trailer will make a chaotic combination once the game launches.
