Whatever your stance on voice chat in games, there's no denying it makes for an interesting experience. So, does Battlefield 2042 have voice chat?
Voice chat has been a staple of the online gaming experience for close to two decades now and, for better or worse, helped craft the multiplayer landscape as we know it. Whether you're playing with friends or randoms, voice chat is often the simplest form of communication to make sure everyone is on the same page.
It isn't for everyone, though, with some games implementing alternative features to simplify communication down to a Ping system. It helps curb the virulent toxicity that often makes its home in online matches. Of course, in the heat of the moment, it can be far quicker to shout a command at your teammate than press few buttons.
So what about Battlefield 2042? A game that hasn't had the smoothest launch with players still wondering why certain features appear to be missing.
Does Battlefield 2042 Have Voice Chat?
At the time of writing, Battlefield 2042 still does not have voice chat. The feature was notoriously abssent at launch, leading many players demanding the feature to be added.
EA and DICE have acknowledged the concerns, calling voice chat a legacy feature that the developers aim to address. So far, though, there has been no timeframe for when we can expect to see the change.
Voice chat has been one of the most demanded features from players, and it's understandable. A massive online game such as Battlefield 2042 often benefits from verbal communication, making strategic plays that much simpler to pull off when playing with random teammates.
As we head into 2022, fans will likely be hoping for some updates coming in the new year. Whether voice chat will be one of them remains to be seen.
