Deathloop, the highly-anticipated strategic co-op title, has finally been released today—leaving players with questions on how to engage.
Arkane Studios "wowed" audiences with its reveal of Deathloop, a game where respawning truly allows the player to apply new knowledge to their playstyle. It pits two deadly assassins, Colt Vahn and Julianna Blake, to the island of Blackreef where each one is set on their own conflicting mission: Colt to take down his targets and end the cycle of respawning and Julianna to take down Colt before he can.
Is Deathloop Crossplay Compatible?
No, Deathloop does not support cross-play or cross-platform interaction—at least, not at the time of writing this article.
This may come as frustrating news to fans of the game as Deathloop sports a unique, immersive co-op feature. Julianna, the game's "antagonist" can be controlled by the game, itself, or by another player for a more difficult challenge. This means that no only will Colt players need to outsmart Arkane Studios' AI, they'll need to avoid their friend's crosshair, as well.
Currently, Deathloop is a timed PS5 exclusive, meaning it is scheduled to remain on PS5 and PC for a year until at least this time in 2022. While this news may be exciting to Xbox fans and owners, this doesn't necessarily translate to cross-platform potential.
Arkane Studios, the developer of the title, has yet to state whether or not it will support this feature in the future.
Deathloop releases on PlayStation 5 and PC on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
