Does Dina Die in The Last of Us Part II?

Does Dina die in The Last of Us Part II, or does she suffer a much crueler fate? In the dark, hopeless world of TLOU, sometimes death is a much better outcome than the alternatives. If looking to find out Dina’s fate be aware that there are full spoilers ahead for certain events in the game.

Does Dina Die in The Last of Us 2? (Spoilers Ahead)

Dina is one of the lucky ones in The Last of Us Part II in that she does not die. Midway through the game Ellie learns that Dina is pregnant, which then forces Ellie to leave her behind at their theater home base. Dina was almost killed when an enraged Abby showed up - viciously beating Dina and threatening to slit her throat. She was saved when Lev intervened and forced Abby to back off - saving Dina’s life.

Dina’s Fate The Last of Us Part II 

Further along in the game, the events jump forward to show that Ellie, Dina and her baby are living happily on a farm. When Ellie learns from Tommy that Abby is still alive - found hiding out in California, Ellie decides to pursue her, breaking Dina’s heart in the process. 

When Ellie returns she finds that Dina has moved out of the farm, and her whereabouts are unknown at the end of the game.
