Dota 2 7.22g Gameplay Update: Main Takeaways

The Dota 2 7.22g Gameplay Update went live yesterday, toning down some of the dominant picks from The International. Here's a quick look at some of the winners and losers of the patch.

Dota 2 7.22g Gameplay Update

Patch 7.22g starts us off with a 5% nerf to Basic Neutral gold bounties and hits to Hand of Midas as well as some early game armor items. These changes seem focused on taking strength carries like Lifestealer and Alchemist down a notch.

Alchemist is also directly getting his Greevil's Greed stacking speed reduced, and he's losing the mana regen on Chemical Rage. The Greevil's Greed nerf is pretty tame, but the Chemical Rage nerf will massively hurt Alch's ability to farm in a sustained manner. He'll either need to itemize around it or start looking for more battle builds.

The next big loser of the patch is Chen, who is having his miximum creep level for Holy Persuasion reduced again, from 4/4/5/6 to 3/4/5/6. Divine Favor is also having its heal boost and cooldown hit.

Clockwork is getting a nice intelligence buff and he's gaining five movement speed, up to 315. It isn't a huge change, but you should never underestimate how much speed helps this little guy out in lane. If he can get on top of your supports, he can kill them.

Most of the other changes are pretty minor, but there are two worth picking out:

Keeper of the Light is getting a slew of buffs, including a flat 14-second cooldown for Blinding Light and a cast range improvement. These changes will take KotL from being decent in lane to being an absolute nightmare to fight against early.

Finally, Night Stalker's Void now deals full damage during the day. This should let NS turn up the aggression a little sooner in lane, and he may not immediately have to drop fights if it turns to day.
