The Dota 2 Short Film 2019 contest officially opened for submissions Thursday.


Dota 2 filmmakers can submit their short films to the Steam Workshop to be eligible for up to $25,000 in prizes.

Fans will vote on their favorites to help Valve select the entries that will be showcased during The International 2019 broadcast. Top entries will also appear in the TI 2019 Battle Pass to be voted on by the community in pursuit of the winners.


The top 10 films will win a guaranteed minimum $500, while third place will win $5,000, second place $10,000 and first place $25,000.


Submissions can be animated or live-action, but must pertain to Dota 2 and run for no longer than 90 seconds. Filmmakers can submit multiple entries and are free to use any Valve IP in their submissions.


Fans have until Aug. 7 to get their films on the Steam Workshop.
