Valve revealed Dota 2's The International 2020 Battle Pass Monday, officially beginning the crowd-funding portion of the tournament's prize pool fundraising.

The Battle Pass, which retails for $9.99, includes an avalanche of rewards Dota players can earn by leveling up the battle pass. Those rewards include three Immortal Treasures, the first of which is already available, a new terrain called Sanctums of the Divine, a Pudge Persona called The Toy Butcher, an Anti-Mage Persona called The Disciple's Path, and dozens of other rewards.

Many of those rewards will never be available again once The International runs its course. The tournament, originally scheduled for August, has been postponed indefinitely.

Players can earn battle pass levels by completing in-game objectives, or by buying levels individually or in bundles. The level 50 bundle, which begins the player at level 50 of the battle pass, costs $29.35 — a 5% discount. The level 100 bundle costs $44.99, which is a 15% discount.

Dota 2 Guilds Introduced in Battle Pass Update

The battle pass update also introduces guilds. All players can join guilds to make finding a team easier and receive extra rewards for playing together, but only battle pass owners can create them.

Once in a guild, players can claim contracts from daily-changing pools. Completing those contracts will earn guild points for guild mates and battle points for oneself. Guild members can also complete guild challenges, four of which will appear each week. Completing each challenge earns guild points and Sideshop Gold, but can only be done with guild mates.

Guild points earn collective rewards including emoticons, bonus challenges, in-game Guild Banner upgrades, battle pass bonuses, and more.

Dota 2 Summer Event Teased

Valve revealed a mysterious summer event set to arrive in the near future in its battle pass blog post. The event will bring a four-player maze game mode with costly choices and battle pass rewards.

Dota 2 Sideshop Revealed

A new shop will open during the run up to TI 2020 known as the Sideshop. Players can build Dota Underlords teams, then sell them to claim special rewards from the shop.

Dota 2 Bounty Killing

Each week players will receive Bounty Tokens they can use to place bounties on enemy heroes. If anyone on your team kills a hero with a bounty on them within the time limit, they'll earn 200 battle points.

The player who sets the bounty cannot complete it. Players can place more bounties each week by raising their battle level.

Dota 2 Gift-a-Battle-Pass Initiative

Players who buy battle passes for others will receive special titles on their profile and the Versus Screen. Gifting one battle pass earns the title of "The Selfless," followed at three gifts by "The Benevolent," and at five by "The Wise."

Dota 2 Community Match Predictions

Each day Valve will highlight a community match and allow players to vote on which team won based on heroes, lane assignments, and skill brackets for the match. Players can earn battle points for correct guesses, and guessing carries no penalty.
