Douglas Costa FIFA 20: Fans Outraged by EA Sports' Handling of FUTMAS Promotion
By Max Mallow

Douglas Costa FIFA 20, a new FUTMAS Squad Building Challenge released Sunday, has fans outraged by EA Sports' content releases so far during the holiday promotion.
FUTMAS is traditionally one of the most exciting promotions of a FIFA Ultimate Team cycle. It's about giving back to players with a multitude of player SBCs and relatively affordable prices. It also allows EA to give a handful of fan favorite players who haven't received special cards so far a meaningful boost.
This year, however, fans have been extremely upset with how EA Sports has handled content releases. Cards received minimal boosts with ridiculous prices and fans are letting the developer know.

Here's a full list of players released in SBCs so far for FUTMAS and estimated prices according to FUTBIN:
- Nabil Fekir - 87 CAM - Real Betis: 188,000 coins
- Douglas Costa - 86 LM - Piemonte Calcio: 128,000 coins
- Kevin Malcuit - 94 RB - Napoli - 133,000 coins (expired)
- Dodi Lukebakio - 84 ST - Hertha BSC - 165,000 coins (expired)
- Axel Witsel - 85 CDM - Borussia Dortmund - 51,000 coins (expired)
- Moses Simon - 84 LM - FC Nantes - 53,000 coins (expired)
Looking at the prices, Witsel and Simon appear as major bargains but their boosts weren't anything to write home about. As far as the others, they're just way too overpriced at this stage of the game with what's available on the transfer market.
Malcuit is the only one who deserved a bit of thought considering the lack of quality fullbacks in the Serie A this FUT.
The only positive so far out of FUTMAS is in the inclusion of TOTY nominee cards in packs. Six objective players throughout the promotion are a positive as well, but Thiago Mendes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin are a bit underwhelming.
EA Sports needs to step it up when it comes to promotions if it wants to save face with the majority.
