The most recent Nintendo Direct surprised fans with many beloved series, like the Epic Mickey: Rebrushed remake and several retro Rare games. One of the best surprises from the presentation was Endless Ocean: Luminous, the newest addition to the sea exploration franchise that started years ago. Here’s everything we know about it.

Endless Ocean: Luminous: Everything We Know So Far

Endless Ocean: Luminous will be available for Switch owners on May 2, 2024. A digital version is only available now, and we’re unsure if a physical one will be released. Pre-orders for the title are already live for $49.99. Those who choose to buy the game before its official launch date will get to pre-load it and have a free 7-day trial for Nintendo Switch Online. Endless Ocean: Luminous is also Game Voucher eligible, allowing players to save money on it and one other title.

Fans of the franchise’s Wii games, Endless Ocean and Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep, will be excited to discover the depths of Luminous. The first came out in 2007, while the second was released in 2009. The series has been dormant since then, and its revival is a much-needed dose of relaxation. Arika’s games are known for calming ocean exploration, mesmerizing sea creatures, and an enchanting soundtrack. All these elements will carry over to Endless Ocean: Luminous, but there’s much more to come.

Environments will change every time they dive into the vast Veiled Sea. People can also chill out with friends since the new online multiplayer mode supports up to 30 players. Last but not least, players can encounter over 500 species, including prehistoric creatures, and share their findings with others.

We can’t wait to dive into the Veiled Sea on May 2!
