Erangel Remaster Hits PTS in PUBG Xbox Update 4.2

The Erangel visual update arrived in PUBG Xbox Update 4.2, which hit the public test servers Wednesday.
The update, which has been available on PUBG PC servers since late July, redesigns vast swaths of the game's first ever map. The most heavily altered areas include Military Base, Mylta Power, Quarry, Mansion and Prison, though areas across the island have seen changes.

In addition to applying textural overhauls, PUBG Corp added and reshaped terrain, signage and buildings. PUBG Corp applied these changes both to improve the visuals of the map and to introduce hints at the history of the map, which received its first piece of lore in mid July.
Many of the objects added in the redesign are destructible, including pylons and barricades.
Finally, the redesign added overcast weather to Erangel's weather cycle, allowing for a dynamic shift between grey skies, violent winds, hail, light and heavy rain, and fog.
The PUBG Xbox Update 4.2 PTS run is set to end Aug. 27 at 7 a.m., when the update will be applied to live servers. See the full patch notes here.
