Fast Travel Forza Horizon 5: How to Unlock Fast Travel
By Jack O'Dwyer
We've put together a simple guide on how to enable fast travel in Forza Horizon 5 and what can be done with it.
Fast travel is one of the better quality of life enhancements to come out of gaming in the last decade. It allows players to quickly move from point "A" to point "B" at the cost of a few pieces of in-game currency and some time staring at a loading screen. Several games have implemented fast travel since its development and placed their own tweaks over the system. Among the most notable titles is TESV: Skyrim—which won't let you fast travel across the map until you find that one remaining mudcrab that followed you 40 ft past its riverbank (I'm not bitter).
Here's how it works in Forza Horizon 5.
Fast Travel in Forza Horizon 5
Fast travel is available from the start of the game in an extremely limited state. Players can only travel to their "Home" property or to the festivals they unlock through normal progression. Everywhere else on the map will need to be travel to on-foot—or, should we say, on-wheel.
On the flip side, this is one of the ways players can explore the detailed open world of Forza Horizon 5 without necessarily meaning to. It may take a few extra minutes but, given the level of quality Playground Games and Microsoft put into the title, players certainly won't be without a nice view while traveling.
In order to unlock fast travel to every location in-game, players will need to purchase the Buenas Vistas home for 2 million in-game credits. It's expensive, yes, but also a one-time purchase that gives immediate, automatic access to all those annoying spots you had to manually drive to beforehand.
Using fast travel does cost credits, for better or worse, but this cost can be lowered by smashing through Fast Travel Boards littered throughout the world. These are billboards that should be marked on the map with a purple and white lightning bolt. There are 50 in total and each one destroyed will lower the cost of fast travel overall.
For those having trouble finding the boards, players can access whatever property they set as "Home" at any time for no cost. We recommend shifting your chosen Home property to a certain location if you find yourself spending quite a bit of time traveling to one area of the map.
