FIFA 20 TOTY Predictions: Who's Making the Team of the Year?

FIFA 20 TOTY Predictions are rolling in as the Ballon d'Or awards ceremony wrapped up Tuesday.
FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi won an historic sixth Ballon d'Or narrowly beating out Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk. The win moved Messi ahead of former La Liga rival Cristiano Ronaldo for most all-time.
FIFA 20 Ultimate Team players look forward to seeing who gets into the illustrious Team of the Year. As is tradition, Messi will receive a 99 rated card just as Luka Modric did last year. Who's rounding out the rest of the TOTY?
FIFA 20 TOTY Predictions: Who's Making the Team of the Year?
Going off of FIFA 19 Ultimate Team, 12 players will receive a Team of the Year card based on these categories:
- 3 Attackers
- 3 Midfielders
- 4 Defenders
- 1 Goalkeeper
- 1 Player Voted 12th Man
Fans have the opportunity to cast their votes for the Team of the Year while EA Sports then submits ballots as well. Liverpool is expected to dominate the Team of the Year after winning the Champions League and falling just one point short of the Premier League trophy.
Here are predictions for each category for the FIFA 20 TOTY based on a 442 formation:
Goalkeeper
- Alisson Becker - Liverpool
Defenders
- Virgil Van Dijk - Liverpool
- Andrew Robertson - Liverpool
- Trent Alexander-Arnold - Liverpool
- Matthijs de Ligt - Juventus
Midfielders
- Sadio Mane - Liverpool
- Frenkie de Jong - Barcelona
- Bernardo Silva - Manchester City
- Mohamed Salah - Liverpool
Attackers
- Cristiano Ronaldo - Juventus
- Lionel Messi - Barcelona
As far as the 12th Man is concerned, the likes of Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski and Roberto Firmino should make up the nominees.
