As we approach the halfway point in the footballing calendar, we wanted to give you a look into who we feel are the best midfield players currently in EA Sports' FIFA 21 Ultimate Team mode.

Here is a look at our picks for the top five midfielders currently in FIFA 21.

FIFA 21 Best Midfielders: 5 Best FUT Cards After Black Friday

1. Kevin De Bruyne

If you were to look up a tutorial on how to be a midfielder, De Bruyne's picture would be right next to it. Sitting as the highest ranked midfielder in FIFA 21 his stats more than justify that fact. With his five-star Weak Foot and four-star Skill Moves, De Bruyne's ball distribution skills are second to none on the FIFA pitch.

2. Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes is easily on par with De Bruyne in terms of his versatility. He can travel all over the pitch, can act as CF if needed, and will blast shots past the keeper in set pieces. He is the ideal player to have if you are looking at building a hybrid squad in Ultimate Team. And to top it all off, he is significantly cheaper than De Bruyne in the transfer market. So if you have about 70k in your FIFA Wallet and are in need of a solid midfielder for your squad, consider picking up Fernandes.

3. Marcus Rashford

Rashford has taken the FIFA world by storm this year. He is a must have for anyone looking to build a strong team. His speed and his ability to play pretty much anywhere makes him a threat for any poor defender that is matched up against him. He will cost a pretty penny in the transfer market so if you plan on getting Rashford you had best save up your coins.

4. Heung-min Son

Heung-min Son has been a force to be reckoned with both in FIFA 21 and in the English Premier League this season. His high dribbling stat coupled with his four-star Skill Moves and, most impressively, his five-star Weak Foot stats make him the pseudo-striker that every FIFA player should be trying to get after for their team.

5. Federico Valverde

If you were playing Ultimate Team at the start of FIFA 21 you most likely saw Valverde appear in a number of teams. Despite his average rating of 83, Valverde is a quality player to have in your midfield this year and many high profile FIFA players would agree. He is also rather cheap so if you are only just getting started in FUT this year or just need someone to anchor the midfield for your team then look no further.
