FIFA 21 next gen release date is rapidly approaching as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X launched in early Nov.
FIFA 21 is the latest entry in EA Sports' successful soccer simulation franchise. The game originally released Oct. 9 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The game features Kylian Mbappe on the cover representing for the first time in his young career.
The release was widely regarded as one of the best FIFA titles to use the Frostbite engine. Ultimate Team fans began a new journey grinding their clubs and the various competitions allotted to them. Fans who bought next-generation consoles are able to play the current generation version on their new platforms, but a next-gen version is coming soon.
Here's when fans can expect the next-gen version of FIFA 21 to drop.

FIFA 21 for next-gen drops Dec. 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The next-generation version is available as a free upgrade for those who purchased a PS4 or Xbox One copy of the game. Thanks to dual entitlement, fans won't have any problem either digitally downloading the new game or using the same disc to play the next-gen version.
The only caveat is that players must stay in the same console family to benefit from dual entitlement.
EA Sports began hyping up the next-gen version by announced a David Beckham addition in conjunction with the legend's return to FIFA. Fans who play FIFA before Jan. 15 get a special Beckham item. Additionally, Beckham is receiving an Icon card in FUT.
