Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date was announced a day before Square Enix's E3 press conference, but the game took center stage Monday.

One of the most anticipated remakes of all time, FF7 Remake is a complete overhaul of the iconic role-playing game. Gameplay is akin to Kingdom Hearts and the PlayStation Portable spin-off Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

But what details were announced during the conference? Here's everything you need to know about Final Fantasy 7 Remake at E3.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Release Date; Details Revealed During Square Enix E3 Conference

Final Fantasy 7 Remake launches March 3, 2020 on PlayStation 4. After years of anticipation and hype, players finally have a date to look forward to.

Gameplay was shown off with descriptions of mechanics and controls. Fans in the crowd were loud in their praise for the game. Cloud Strife and Barret Wallace were the two characters demonstrated, but a tease for Tifa Lockhart was hinted at during the show. The demo closed out with Cloud and Barret taking down a Scorpion Sentinel.

The timing of the announcement might seem strange considering Sony isn't at E3 this year. There was, however, a Square Enix concert honoring FF7 and Kingdom Hearts. The trailer was shown at the end of the concert.
