Endwalker, the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, is set for release this fall on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Mac.
Square Enix says Endwalker will be a "new beginning" for Final Fantasy XIV. The expansion will chart the end of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark arc Square Enix kicked off back in 2013's A Realm Reborn. It'll send players as far as the moon to complete the story, cleaning the slate for a new story to begin.
Along the way, players will have the chance to try out several new jobs, including one healer job called Sage, new areas including the city of Radz-at-Han, a new level cap at 90, new challenges and some tweaks to the battle system.
The PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV launches in open beta April 13. Like any next-gen upgrade worth its salt, it'll improve frame rates, up the resolution to 4K, and trim down on load times. Players can upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 one at no extra cost at the outset of the open beta.
